Build - Coatesville
When you’re in the middle of digging a hole to accommodate a full-sized racquetball court that you’ve sourced from Germany, you know you’re not part of an ordinary home build. This was the case with this unique Ridge Road, Coatesville property.
From the outset, the clients had a very clear wish list that made this an exciting and challenging home to work on for the Design Partners and Build Partners teams. For starters, everything throughout the 811m2 home was to be fully automated, with a large generator added as a back up to deal with Coatesville’s famous power outages. The setting may have been rural, but there was definitely nothing old-fashioned about this home!
Communication was vital. With so many moving parts and unusual requests. The Build Partners team had to carefully manage the entire process – overseeing the evolving design and sourcing a variety of products such as that full-sized German racquetball court. (That fixture alone involved excavating 3 metres down to accommodate its full-sized 6 metre high roofline.)
And while many of the high-spec materials and design elements may have been new, they were met with the same extremely high attention to detail that Design
Partners brings to every project. With the ball quite literally in their court throughout, the team used their excellent project management skills
to stay on top of any changes and meet the high expectations of the client.
The finished product is an exceptional home with extras including guest accommodation, a large pool, theatre and of course, that court. And while there were some unusual new challenges along the way, both Build Partners and the client were extremely satisfied with the result – meeting the brief’s “exquisite and eccentric” requirements perfectly.
